I’ve tried selling items before in the past. Never had luck and that was a few years ago. I went into clothing mentor to look around one day and asked the cashier what their process was for buying clothes and what they paid for them. I was told they give you like 1/3 of what they would sell your item for. So I would never try to sell my items to either Plato’s or clothing mentor.
I went to Plato's the other day with TWO BASKETS full of clothing and a pair of lightly worn Nike shoes. In the baskets were a lot of good quality, lightly worn, name brand stuff; Abercrombie, Pink, Nike, etc. They took an old, cheap flannel and a crop top from a small store. In return, I got $3.75. The workers NEVER call to tell you when the stuff is done being checked and always tell you "we couldn't accept these items due to wear and age" when they have taken my sister's Coloumbia fleece from 8 YEARS AGO!! Very unhappy. They never take the time to actually do their job. Unprofessional, messy, hypocritical.
Love love love sort of, the staff are never friendly so you can forget that everytime you go in there, but you are able to find some really nice clothes and name brand clothes for that matter, for cheap. Wish they would act like their neighborly store Once Upon A Child and expand since it is CRAMPED in there.
This place is extremely picky with excepting clothes. I brought in 2 pairs of fairly new silver jeans and 1 pair of bke jeans that I paid over $100 for not long ago. I brought in a coach and chaps purse, as well as some new boots. A few pink shirts and daytrip shirts. Everything in extremely good condition. They did not take any thing. They need to be more clear on what they do accept instead of waiting people’s time, because as far as I am concerned the brands I brought in are very popular and high end. I was also told some items weren’t teen sizing? None of the clothes were over a size 7 jeans so I don’t know what that is supposed to mean either, and considering some of the clothes in the store look like they should be sold at goodwill maybe they should think about swapping out older items for newer items, and stop being cheap.
THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE!! staff is unprofessional, rude, and snotty and the entire store is a mess. the employees clearly don't care about any of their costumers, let alone know how to do they're job. there's never a manager present when asked for, and they have NEVER called me back on time to let me know when my items have been searched through. they always try to rip people off for their high quality items and resell them for a much higher profit. never going back there and i would NEVER recommend going there to anybody. completely disgusted.
