Not a good first impression. Didn't get a hello or welcome. Just a "2?" Then seated. 10mins to get asked about beverages. 5mins after that to order. 15mins for food. My burger was lower grade but still juicy, and his fish was very small for the price. The entire staff we delt with was rather impersonal. But in all fairness. I didn't expect an amazing experience for 20.
Good food great price. Waitresses are awsome. French toast with cinnamon and powdered sugar is great. Soups are good too.

Their restroom and doors are not exactly handicap friendly, though there's a sign on the bathroom offering staff help if you need it (you can back your chair down the narrow dark hall after you read the sign and try not to hit anyone coming out of the men's room, then try to get someone's attention at the desk). I've fallen on wet floors because of poor signage. However, they do seem family- and large-group friendly and enough people with disabilities come there that the problems I see are probably not a barrier to enjoyment.
I doubt I'd go here often except for the money and convenience--and coffee, though be careful to wipe your mug rim for lipstick the dishwashers missed. Once I went through four mugs before I got a clean one.
I'm making it sound terrible, but truthfully, they have pretty good and plentiful food (great homemade soups, crispy fries, and fresh, vegetable-filled stir fry)and most of their flaws are things I frankly expect of inexpensive diners. If you want to spend a little bit more, go across the street to Lil Diner Express for a similar experience.
This place is all about economy. There are few restaurants anymore where you can go in, eat several courses, and pay less than ten dollars including the tip. The ambience is dubious, the cleanliness dependent on who wiped the table and checked the plates (or didn't). The staff is mostly pleasant and helpful, though being a regular kind of colors that for me--they know what I like and that I literally go there for fresh coffee that's refilled as soon as I drink it.
