Seems also like fair treatment is out the door here. If the instructor likes someone more then you, be prepared to wait. Because he will take all the time helping them and ignoring you in lab. Also I noticed that for tests and homework they’ll really cut others slack and not cut you a break. I went to the councilors about this and sat and talked with him for a good hour. I thought at least something would be done. NOPE. I tried calling to check and I was ignored. The second semester I had to actually see the dean to help something done. And even then the instructor knew I couldn’t do a thing so now that he knows I’m the one that went there he got even worse.
Got my CDL through FVTC in August 2016. They had good equipment to drive and nice classrooms to do paperwork in. Dale and Mo were great instructors.
I believe FVTC is a great local resource, providing quality education at an affordable rate.
If you use the Post 9/11 Bill and something happens don’t think your going drop. If they mark you with a W instead of a F. Be prepared to pay it all back. And the instructors know this so it kinda seems like they torture you more.
Don’t get me wrong there are some good instructors but since your stuck with one per semester there’s a huge risk you might get screwed out of your money also. My grades are A’s and B’s so don’t think I’m sore about that. I do feel these programs are set for 18 year olds.
I’m absolutely dissapointed I wasted my Post 9/11 Bill on this school. Seems like there auto program has its own rules. They do have a computer lab to do homework I. But there’s no one available to help you. So if you don’t ask in class your outta luck.
I’m 35 year old male with 2 kids. I also served 8years in the US Army.
You make your own choice but I sure won’t waste any more money at this school.
I took there automotive program.
Also I’m 35 I did my time cleaning up after others in the army I don’t want to have to come to school and clean up after them. You have some instructors (night) that seems like they don’t check there students. So when we come in the morning we get stuck scrubbing floors that they dirtied. It gets old fast.
I took IT classes and thought the instructors were genuinely interested in teaching. The general classes here might be easier for those who want a classroom setting versus lecture halls. I feel that the this school offers a great value when compared to a University (I graduated UWO undergrad prior to IT classes.)
Was an absolute challenge to deal with the administrative offices. Almost liked they enjoyed being difficult.
