Trendy atmosphere, good service and impressive menu complement each other well to create a very nice dining experience in this extremely convenient location.

Overall I thought Katsu-Ya was worth going to, and I'd gladly dine here again.

Food was decent but service was awful. Entered on a quiet night. Two hosts greeted two of us. Said that a table would be ready in a few minutes. 15 min went by. One other couple came in and was told to wait. We finally asked how much longer. They said a table was being prepared. Eventually we are walked to our table and in the entire dining room there were two tables with people and the rest empty! Two servers sitting at the sushi bar! Sat at the table and it had not been prospered... nothing on it... so why did we wait? Then we encountered a server with attitude that didn’t know the menu at all. A real disappointment. I hope it gets better!

The specialty drink menu is full of creative options. I would recommend "Ninja in the Mist" as a unique and delicious choice. The volcano is fun but was a bit too sweet for me.

Desserts were so so...though they ran out of their specials so we could only try the menu staples.

Absolutely phenomenal food, people I'm telling you their fillet mignon is so juicy and tender it falls apart and melts in your mouth. Top notch customer service too drink looks half empty they will immediately snag you a new one. The chefs are a pleasure to be around as well, very friendly and really good with a blade. Like a little show with your meal? Look no further.

The sushi was fresh and presented well, though the rolls did fall apart rather easily. My katsu pork curry was excellent and well made. I thought portions were slightly on the small side for the price but not to a degree that bothered me.

The hibachi chef was great. Very good interaction and the food was delicious. The sushi wasn't as good as I thought it would be for the price, but we are in Wisconsin. Service was fast.

They told us we'd have to wait an hour and twenty minutes, but it only ended up being about half an hour. The restaurant itself is visually impressive for the fox valley area. The food is also pretty good. I had the pork ramen that was on special, the noodles were a little over cooked, and the marinated egg was a huge disappointment. It was unpleasantly cold. I also had the fire and ice roll. That was actually pretty tasty. Overall, we had a decent experience and we'd go back again. I definitely want to try cooking my own food over the grill built into the table.
