had the worst experience at this jewelry store. Bought platinum diamond wedding band 2 years ago. had it soldered to my diamond solitaire (from another jewelry store). This past spring (after having the ring not quite 2 years) the band actually cracked and broke. It was soldered to the other ring, and the other ring showed zero sign of damage. whatever happened was so insignificant I don't even know what caused it to break. Brought it back in to Fred Meyer Jewelers assuming that after only 2 years they would take care of this. Their initial response was to charge me almost as much we paid for the ring to repair it. WHAT?? After I explained that their quote was only $150 less than we paid for the entire ring, they came back and agreed to split the cost. Mind you, I am very upset that I have to have the entire shank rebuilt after only 2 years, and even at teh alleged "cost" it is still very expensive to do so, but I really want my ring fixed. When I dropped it off, I asked if they would also check the diamonds on both the band and the solitaire. Get ring back, no mention of the diamonds. Exactly 1 month and 1 day after I got the ring back, I was at another jeweler in town who offered to clean my ring for me. They found that the prongs on the diamond solitaire were so bad they couldnt' believe I didn't already lose the diamond, and 3 stones were loose on the band that was just repaired. So now, I have to pay MORE to have the ring repaired again. Obviously I did not bring it back to Fred Meyer, but sent them a letter explaining this and that I am so disappointed with the poor quality and service and that I now have to pay more to have more repairs done to the ring. Paul from Fred Meyer called me back, I re-explained the entire situation, and after ever one of my complaints, his response was "what is your point"? REALLY? I explained how I couldn't believe this is how they do business and wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves. He evaded every one of my complaints, apparently jewelry purchased at their store should only last 2 years. Totally unacceptable. And his response on the loose stones is that allegedly they checked them and they were tight. so in the month I had the ring since they did the work the stones and prongs magically became loose and went bad after I picked the ring up only 1 month ago?? His response was "we dont' know what you did with the ring once you walked out our door". I believe no one even looked at the stones, and that they were loose when I dropped it off, and they didn't catch it. Worst quality and service I think I have ever received. I am going to tell everyone I know not to go to Fred Meyer Jewelers. They had multiple opportunities to try and make me a satisfied customer and failed at every turn.
Don't go to this Fred Meyer Jewelers!! They treat their employees and customers horribly!! The manager who runs the mall Fred Meyer couldn't care less about you as a customer or her employees well-being; all she cares about is making her numbers so she doesn't get shut down. She's publicly ridiculed her employees and she will always try and up-sell a sale instead of looking out for what YOU want.
Love the place
Pushy sales people trying to sell inferior jewelry, also very belittling to Customers
