Our initial search took us to a big name Fox Valley-based fireplace company; ultimately -- after measuring our existing fireplace and four visits to their showroom all they could tell us was what they couldn't do, so we just took a break from it all. About four months later I was at a relative’s home and I commented on how nice their gas fireplace was, and without taking a breath that relative began going on and on about how happy they were with the gas fireplace insert they’d purchased and the service they’d received from Elite Fireplace -- and they'd had their "new" Elite fireplace for over five years. So I went to Elite Fireplace, spent about 30 minutes in their showroom with Eric and John discussing exactly what I wanted, and – wait for it – yup, just a few weeks later they were at my house and installed EXACTLY WHAT I’D WANTED AND HOPED FOR AT A PRICE POINT NEARLY $2,500.00 LESS THAN WHAT THAT BIG NAME FIREPLACE COMPANY WAS TALKING (and remember, ultimately all that the “other” fireplace company told me was what I couldn’t do – they never once gave me an option of what I could do). I think what makes for good companies are fair prices and quality product and service; Eric has nailed that, and much more. Shopping for a fireplace is a happy experience with Elite. They have a nice selection and are very patient about repeat visits as a client makes up their mind. And more important (to me) is their willingness to explain operating procedures repeatedly, if need be-and replace lost directions! They also installed the fireplace in a very satisfactory manner.
After searching for 3 months for a replacement valve for our gas log fireplace and being told none was available, I happened on Elite Fireplace in Appleton, Wi. on the Internet. Eric, at Elite looked at my pictures and said he could get the valve. Within 1 week the part was ordered and installed. I now have working fireplace thanks to ERIC and his tech LES.
