Yes, Bold Salon is a bit pricey. That said, Lacie is a fantastic colorist and hair designer. I'd rather pay a bit more for a great cut and color than less for mediocre or lousy cuts and color. Not sure the one star reviewer would be happy with anyone if she was unhappy with Lacie who is a true professional.

Had Lacie, who comes highly recommended, do my hair. Everything I told her not to do...she did! Could have put a bowl on my head and cut with better success. The cut was totally uneven from side to side. I told her not to give me a "bob"...she did a bob! Told her not to undercut my hair...that is exactly what she did! Told her I wanted a cut that would be easy to style with minimal effort...exactly the opposite is now true...I have to exert a major effort just to have it look semi decent! Of course, she told me I can always come back if I am not pleased with the cut...REALLY!! That's not going to happen. Will just have to deal with another terrible cut till it grows out to the point I can subject myself to yet another incompetent Fox Valley haircut :-(

I like this place, so far, so good. Having super straight and somewhat cow-licky hair, finding someone who can cut it and not end up looking like my 8 year old did it, is a painful process. Have had two cuts here and enjoyed the results of both.
