I had shopped been to a Piggly Wiggly before I stopped at this one today. They had chiclen breast on sale for $0.99/lb, which was the best price I've seen. When I picked up two packages, I could smell a strong moldy, mildew smell. I lifted up the black lining they have in the refrigerator, and the entire bottom of it was covered in various meat drippings and mold. Needless to say, I put the chicken back, told customer service and left. I'll pay $1.99lb at Pick N Save.

This is your typical small neighborhood grocery store. It is generally kept clean and organized. My mom, being Korean, has had some ill treatment in the past (20 yrs ago) by their checkout staff, which of course, being a teen at the time, drove me into a rage. However, over the years, I'd say they have gotten better. It is usually where we go for the basics like milk, meat, and some produce. They have pretty good sales from time to time.

I like that they have an ATM, easy access bathrooms, water fountains, and carts sized small and large shopping trips, as well as baskets, scooters, and carts kids can push.

Yesterday around 2:40 I got in line on register 5 or one next to that. I put my beer on the conveyor belt behind a divider. The cashier waited until my beer got up to her, she picked it up and threw it on the back of the conveyor belt. That really ticked me off since I was going to buy that and she just threw it with a rude look on her face. Once I got up to the register she refused to look at my Identity card unless my friend who was still shopping was there to show her id. I know I look young so I understand but she would not help me at all unless I had my friend there too. So I was forced out of line to call my friend to come show her Id. Once she got there and was going to show her ID we were told we would have to wait in line again. I would’ve been fine with everything had the cashier not been rude and if she was polite. We left and took our business somewhere else.

I go here daily because it's on the way to work and they have quick lunch items. Nice staff, pretty fast service. By contrast, it has high prices compared to competitors like Woodman's and Aldi, the selection isn't great, and the "homemade" bakery has a column of ingredients as long as a coffin lid. Lacking a beauty department beyond soap and hairpins (I don't mind, but if I did this wouldn't be one stop shopping for me) and the stationery section has a worse selection than most gas stations. Worse than that--you could argue all you need is a pen and some paper--most of the products don't seem to be replenished til they're gone, meaning that the pencil erasers are rock hard or crumble, the pens are dry or one out of a five-pack has burst and gooed up with ink, glue is rubber, and the notebooks aren't kept separate so the wires are bent, covers are scratched, and pages are bent or dirty. If I were picking up something my kid needed for class or a pad I needed for a meeting, I would have to go somewhere else, and that seems avoidable. Either dump the section or make it decent.

Yesterday was supposed to be an easy going day of hanging out with a friend that is not doing so well. It didn’t ruin our day but definitely dampened our moods. What bothered me the most was the cashiers attitude and the way she looked at me. I have seen that look before and I know that look.

The lunches were pretty good and decently priced, but everything has taken a leap in price and shrunk in quality over the last few months. I would've given the place 4 stars as recently as early summer. Oh well.

It's old and outdated, you'll need a pig card to get any decent sale priced items

I had a horrible experience here. My friend and I stopped in to buy a few drinks. We just got into Appleton from Madison to visit a friend that was terminally ill. Basically it had dampened our moods. I thought about calling the store right after it happened but decided to give it a day to cool down. I figured it would be better to write a review on here instead of calling to talk to management. So here is what happened...

If management is reading this. Please check your cameras at register 5 around 230-250 on December 7. Is this how you train your employees? Is it okay to throw items that your costumers will be buying? If so I will be telling everyone I know not to shop there if they don’t want your food and drinks damaged. Please train your employees better.
