What a disaster! I will NEVER go to or recommend this salon ever again! I had a facial planned just two weeks before Christmas. After taking my son to preschool, my purse was stolen from my car. I immediately called Indira and informed them that I will not be able to make my appointment. I apologized for having to cancel last minute, but I had no money, no purse, and quite honestly, I needed to cancel credit cards, and call the bank to make sure that no one used my identity or credit cards. I was informed that I would be charged $80 for the service. I understand the need to have a cancellation policy, but it seems like a slap in the face. I didn't cancel my appointment because I just didn't want to show up. I was also willing to reschedule. And the kicker is that I was using my LIFESTYLE points for my facial. I earned those points because I was a 'valued' customer. Is this how you treat a valued customer? I ended up calling and speaking to a manager who told me that she spoke to the owner and they would reimburse my $80 only AFTER I come in for my appointment, which needed to be scheculed within 7 days. After several requests to speak to the owner, I was denied. It turned out that they were willing to give me my money back in exchange for ALL of my lifestyle points! Really? After days of dealing with this, I decided that if the owners of this company couldn't take five minutes to talk to me, I was done! I've emailed them to let them know how unhappy I am. I have not heard any response. So, I have made sure that I've shared this information with all of my friends, acquaintances and now I'm turing to the internet. Whatever happened to customer service? Having to deal with INDIRA salon was the by far the MOST difficult part of having my purse stolen. I urge all of you out there to NOT go to Indira Salon. There are MANY other quality salons in the Appleton area.
I hate leaving a negative review, but I did not enjoy my massage experience. I will say right up front that it was NOT the massuse, she was fantastic and I loved her technique. It was the environment...not relaxing at all. The spa room I was brought to for my massage ended up being directly below the main entrance/store, and the building is old and has wooden floors throughout the whole place which = me laying there listening to people walking around LOUDLY in heels and boots directly above me the entire time. Along with the walking, I could hear people talking, and hear a few cabinets/doors being closed loudly. There was 0 chance of relaxing with all of those distractions. I'm disappointed because I love Aveda but this was just terrible. I'm glad I had a $20 off my first service. I'm sure their other services are wonderful, but you cannot expect someone to relax for a massage under those circumstances. I did not have the heart to say anything after my massage because I I wanted to try to stay as relaxed as possible, and again, the massage therapist did a wonderful job. Might just need to re-think their massage room locations, or turn up the music, or something!
I loved the relaxing experience I had at Indira! I took my sister and she also loved her facial. We are both returning and plan on going monthly. We both also want to try some of their other services. We traveled from Oshkosh and it was well worth the drive!! Thanks Ashtyn!

UPDATE: I went in for a pedicure and had an AMAZING experience. The woman who gave me the pedi was young and hip and I got along with her very well, and we discussed the fact that the massage rooms are a bit loud. They are under new ownership now and that problem is being addressed, so I wanted to update my review!
